Deborah Ballins Schwarz and her daughter, Kristen Schwarz Jones, own a boutique law firm that focuses on the needs of seniors and the disabled, bringing with her over 40 years of experience as a lawyer. Her practice provides comprehensive analysis for long term care needs, customized estate planning and special needs planning, and assessment of needs based government benefits, namely Supplemental Security Income, Medi-Cal and Veteran’s Benefits. Because of Deborah’s extensive litigation background, she also handles contested Conservatorships with the goal of maintaining her client’s or a loved one’s dignity, should a conservatorship be necessary to protect them.
Deborah graduated from Loyola Law School and was a member of the Law Review. She was admitted to practice in 1978, and received her LLM degree in taxation from Loyola Law School in 2008. Deborah is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California; and is a VA certified attorney. She was also named Top Attorney in Probate, Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning by the Pasadena Magazine in 2010 and 2012-2020.
Deborah is a member of the San Gabriel Valley Estate Planning Council (Past President), Pasadena Bar Association (Past Trustee); the Academy of Special Needs Planners; Christ Child; Elder Counsel, and the Academy of VA Pension Planners.
